olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

emphasize how the speaker connects with the desk

Explanation:

This question is about the poem "The Desk" where the poet decided to use the word "I" at the beginning of the verses, to emphasize the presence of the speaker in the narrative created by the poem and his strong connection, with the most important element of the poem, the desk. In this way, the reader can easily understand the importance of the object in the speaker's life and the impact that this object causes in his actions as a whole, being extremely important for him or her.

Why was the white South so committed to keeping a slave based economy
garik1379 [7]

Building a commercial enterprise out of the wilderness required labor and lots of it. For much of the 1600s, the American colonies operated as agricultural economies, driven largely by indentured servitude. Most workers were poor, unemployed laborers from Europe who, like others, had traveled to North America for a new life. In exchange for their work, they received food and shelter, a rudimentary education and sometimes a trade.

By 1680, the British economy improved and more jobs became available in Britain. During this time, slavery had become a morally, legally and socially acceptable institution in the colonies. As the number of European laborers coming to the colonies dwindled, enslaving Africans became a commercial necessity and more widely acceptable.

Read the excerpt from "The Hidden Costs of Eating Meat" by Dave McCaul. Which sentence in this excerpt contains supporting data?
STatiana [176]

Hello. You did not show the excerpt to which the question refers, which makes it impossible for that question to be answered accurately.

However, we can affirm that the sentence that you must select is one that shows statistical and / or scientific information, which allows the proof of a certain position or argument in relation to the text's theme. In that case, you should look for that type of information in the text you have.
