Industrial water pollution has been a problem in China for some time now and it has yet to get better, honestly it just seems to get worse as time goes on. Here are some starters, but I don't know your topic, so these could work for most generic topics:

  • Can you imaging not being able to use clean water on a daily basis?
  • If you had no clean water, what would you do?
  • Most of us have clean water, but what if we didn't?
  • Are we expected to walk around knowing that people in the world have minimal or no access to clean water?

Explanation:

You could also start our answer with a mind blowing fact, such as a Did you know that ________? Another good way to do it would be to start with a quotation, or a simile/metaphor.
