Why are people, and in particular girls and women, willing to risk death to escape the refugee camp

English

ASHA 777 [7]3 years ago

People are willing to risk death to escape the camps because they are intensely overcrowded, with people living in shelters made of bamboo and plastic sheeting. Also, the people in the camps can't get jobs or leave the camps without permission, putting them in a permanent state of poverty.

Which excerpt from the letters in Frankenstein best supports the idea that Walton idolizes the stranger?
rodikova [14]

Answer:

Even now, as I commence my task, his full-toned voice swells in my ears, his lustrous eyes dwell on me with all their melancholy

sweetness, I see his thin hand raised in animation, while the lineaments of his face are irradiated by the soul within."

Having conquered the violence of his feelings, he appeared to despise himself for being the slave of passion, and quelling the darktyranny of despair, he led me again to converse concerning myself personally."

4. In paragraph 34, what words help you to know what "rickety”
zimovet [89]

Answer: b. It looked like she could knock it over by sneezing, but it was  good enough for her to practice shooting.

Explanation:

Something that is rickety is not very stable and could collapse at anytime.

In calling the item rickety and thinking that it could be blown over by sneezing meaning it could collapse at any time, the author is helping us understand that rickety means unstable much like the chair which is unstable and prone to collapse at a mere sneeze.
