Immigration has both positive and negative impacts on the U.S. The available evidence suggests that immigration leads leads to more innovation, a better educated workforce, greater occupational specialisation, better matching of skills with jobs, and higher overall economic productivity. On the other hand, when immigration occurs there is an increasing cost of services such as health care and education.
