alexdok [17]
Joan of Arc is a famous woman in history revered by the French who fought in the Hundred Years War. She was captured at the age of 19 and executed by the English. And excessive bail hath been required of persons committed in criminal cases to elude the benefit of the laws made for the liber
Mkey [24]
The English bill of rights is prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment, as well as excessive bail. When the government wanted to keep someone in jail illegally they would declare a huge amount of money for bail which could not be paid. This would give off the illusion that the person could walk out on bail but in reality it was done on purpose to prevent them. Also, cruel and unusual punishment such as torture or similar was common so the bill of rights outlawed it.

what are some important jobs that would accompany the settlement of a wild and unsettled frontier region?
Ronch [10]

Answer:

Some important jobs would be:

  • Farmers: if the region is fertile enough, farmers are crucial, simply because they produce most of the food that will be consumed in the area.
  • Law enforcers: any area needs some form of law-enforcement, no matter how anarchic it is.
  • Doctors: some medical practitioners are also needed, in order to tend the sick and wounded.
  • Merchants: a few merchants are also needed, in order to help with the importing and exporting of goods (trade).
