Hey there

4\sqrt{32} + 6 \sqrt{50}

Let us do the radical part separately,
\sqrt{32} = \sqrt{16} x \sqrt{2}
= 4 \sqrt{2}

4 ( 4 \sqrt{2} ) = 16 \sqrt{2}

\sqrt{50} = \sqrt{25} x \sqrt{2}
= 5\sqrt{2}

6 (5\sqrt{2} ) = 30 \sqrt{2}

Add them together now:
16 \sqrt{2}+ 30\sqrt{2}
46 \sqrt{2}

A raft and a motorboat simultaneously leave from the same point and move down the river. After 2 hours the motorboat turns aroun
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

2 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x mph be the speed of motorboat in still water and y mph be the speed of current.

A raft and a motorboat simultaneously leave from the same point and move down the river, then speeds down the river are:

        motorboat =  x + y mph

        raft = y mph

In two hours they will cover:

        motorboat = 2(x+y) miles

        raft = 2y miles

After 2 hours the motorboat turns around and starts moving towards the raft (against the current), so its speed is now x - y mph.

Let t be the time they move towards each other. In t hours, they cover

        motorboat = t(x - y) miles

        raft = ty miles

The distance from the starting point to the turning point is the same as the sum of the distances the raft covers and the motorboat covers after turning around, so

2(x+y)=2y+t(x-y)+ty \\ \\2x+2y=2y+tx-ty+ty\\ \\2x=tx\\ \\t=2\ hours

What is the intial value and rate of change in this graph. please explain step by step!!!!!
WARRIOR [948]

The initial value of the graph is where x = 0. Thus, in this case, the initial value is 12.

The rate of change of the graph is essentially the slope of the graph. In this case, we can use the slope formula:

\dfrac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}

  • (x_1, y_1) and (x_2, y_2) are points on the graph

Let's use two points from the chart to find the slope:

m = \dfrac{30 - 21}{2 - 1} = 9

In this case, the rate of change of the graph is 9.
