Some foods, like potato chips and pretzels, are obviously salty. But many packaged foods may also contain hidden salt. Food comp

anies often add sodium to help improve taste. Things such as canned tuna, hot dogs, cheese, and even some breads and pasta have a considerable amount of salt in them. In fact, most of the salt we eat does not come from a salt shaker; it comes from our food. Too much salt, like too much of anything, can result in substantial health risks. To improve Americans' health, the U.S. government wants its citizens to reduce the amount of salt they eat by more than half.
Consumers may be _________ of the sodium.

Read the following lines from Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'urbervilles
NARA [144]

Answer: C.the English countryside

Explanation:

Tess of the d'Urbervilles: A Pure Woman Faithfully Presented is a novel by written by Thomas Hardy, published in 1891. The story is set at the end of the 19th century, in a region southwest of London. More precisely, the novel takes place in Wessex, an area that includes the county of Dorset and the surrounding counties. The novel itself illustrates the country life during the late Victorian period. The story does not take place in America, so the option A is incorrect. It also certainly does not take place among the Mayan ruins, or London. The story is set in rural England - the correct answer is C. the English countryside.

Question 2 (1 point)
Nezavi [6.7K]

Question 2

Answer: Across the bay, fleets of old fishing boats was seen on the horizon.

Explanation: The subject fleets (plural noun) of old fishing boats mismatches the verb was seen (only for I/he/she/it)

Question 5

Answer: John cried.

Explanation: This sentence is the only one with a subject and a predicate. "Because he wasn't hungry" is a reason clause that must depend on another sentence. "Rebekah drove a race car she won three races" is not a valid sentence unless you place a semicolon after the word "car" to separate the two predicates in it (or a period to make two separate sentences).

Question 10

Answer: I studied

Explanation: The subject "I" is not properly divided from the verb (studied), complement (for the test) and the independent clause joined by the word "but" (but I still didn't pass it).
