Your answer would be A). France was very committed to helping the Americans defeat the British

That would be your answer because the French spent a lot of time and money to help the American Soldier's during the war.

In these kinds of problems, you would try to find the answer based on what's in the text, not anything else.

B is NOT the answer because the text doesn't mention anything about the Seven Year's War. It also doesn't mention anything about payback.

C is NOT the answer because it doesn't say any ideal (perfect) things about the Americans. It just talks about them helping the Americans

D is NOT the answer because the French were involved in the war, they were so involved in the war to the point where they spent 13 billion dollars of the U.S money in order to help

The Code of Hammurabi is a well-preserved Babylonian code of law of ancient Mesopotamia, dating back to about 1754 BC (Middle Chronology). It is one of the oldest deciphered writings of significant length in the world. The sixth Babylonian king, Hammurabi, enacted the code, and partial copies exist on a 2.25 metre (7.5 ft) stone stele and consists of 282 laws, with scaled punishments, adjusting "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" (lex talionis)[1] as graded depending on social status, of slave versus free man or woman.[2]
