Read the excerpt below from The life and adventures of Wilburn Waters. As you read, think about what this writer's attitude is t

oward Native Americans. Wilburn's mother was one of these people. She was said to have been very handsome, tall and straight, with nearly all the characteristics of a full Indian, except that she was unusually amiable in her disposition, and fond of quiet, domestic life. She had some education, was pious and affectionate, and was very anxious that her children should have pious instruction and the best education their limited means and opportunities would allow. She was the mother of five children four sons and one daughter of whom Wilburn was the youngest. How does Charles Coale, the writer of this book, include subjectivity in this excerpt?
A.)by assuming that all Native Americans were the opposite of Wilburn Waters' mother
B.)by assuming that most Native Americans were not handsome and had poor posture
C.)by assuming that most Native Americans were fond of the quiet, domestic life
D.)by assuming that all Native Americans were like the white settlers of the area

Answer:

A

Explanation:

We can immediately eliminate C because he states that she was unlike the native people because she wanted a quiet life. We can also eliminate D because it doesn't fit the situation either. B also does not fit, as those subjects are never mentioned, leaving us with A.
