Answer:

He did not kill Caesar out of a lack of love for him, he says, but because his love for Rome outweighed his love of a single man. Brutus explains to the crowd that Antony had no part in the conspiracy but that he will now be part of the new. The plebeians call the conspirators traitors and demand that Antony read the will.

In 2–3 complete sentences, thoroughly explain the protagonist's main motivation or goal in your Module One short story? What doe
earnstyle [38]

Answer:

The main motivation of the protagonist is to satisfy the emptiness he feels inside. This emptiness is both physical (due to hunger) and mental, spiritual and emotional (due to lack of companionship and social relationships).

The protagonist of "Condensed Milk" is a prisoner of the Russian government and lives in terrible conditions, where he is forced to work, receives little food, lives in an inhospitable environment and is surrounded by people who are very bitter about the life they lead.

In this story, the protagonist realizes that:

He is slowly dying, as are the other prisoners.

This death is brought about by the Russian government and its punishments.

He is hungry and tired.

He feels empty, weak and craves social interaction.

The other prisoners are just as tired and bitter as he is and cannot form friendships as they too feel empty.

The atmosphere of mistrust makes the relationship even more difficult, which made the character feel even more empty.

The protagonist of this story desperately wants to fill the emotional and physical emptiness he feels and this is the biggest motivation in his life.

With that, we can conclude that through this character, the story shows how human beings need emotional support and social contact to live satisfied. These elements are as important as food, rest and freedom.

it wouldn't be the last one because that means 5(x-7) or 5x-35

the second one means 5x-7, therefore, it's the correct answer

Why were Americans, including President Jefferson, unable to to treat Haitians as “brave and courageous human beings"?
Cloud [144]

Answer:

:The Haitian Revolution and the subsequent emancipation of Haiti as an independent state provoked mixed reactions in the United States. This led to uneasiness in the US, instilling fears of racial instability on its own soil and possible problems with foreign relations and trade between the two countries.

US president Thomas Jefferson realized the revolution had the potential to cause an upheaval against slavery in the US not only by slaves, but by white abolitionists as well. Southern slaveholders feared the revolt might spread from the island of Hispaniola to their own plantations. Against this background and with the declared primary goal of maintaining social order in Haiti, the US attempted to suppress the revolution, refusing acknowledgement of Haitian independence until 1862.

The US also embargoed trade with the nascent state. American merchants had conducted a substantial trade with the plantations on Hispaniola throughout the 18th century, the French-ruled territory providing nearly all of its sugar and coffee. However, once the Haitian slave population emancipated itself, the US was reluctant to continue trade for fear of upsetting the evicted French on one hand and its Southern slaveholders on the other.

Against this, there were anti-slavery advocates in northern cities who believed that consistency with the principles of the American Revolution — life, liberty and equality for all — demanded that the US support the Haitian people.
