Answer:

The Spanish Civil War (1936–39) was the bloodiest conflict western Europe had experienced since the end of World War I in 1918. It was the breeding ground for mass atrocities. About 200,000 people died as the result of systematic killings, mob violence, torture, or other brutalities. The outcome of the Spanish Civil War altered the balance of power in Europe, tested the military power of Germany and Italy, and pushed ER "away from the peace movement and into the ranks of the anti-fascists" fighting for democracy.

Answer:

Perhaps the biggest question in world history is why the balance of power shifted so dramatically in favor of Europe and the West instead of the East in the 1800s. One major reason is that China was so internally divided that development of any one province economically or technologically was a threat to the surrounding emperors. (C.)

When the U.S. invaded Iraq:
tatiyna

Answer: A. The U.S. had the full support of the United Nations

Explanation:

And not only did they support the United Nations Security Council, but many UN members took part in actions led by the United States. After Iraq occupied Kuwait, all attempts at diplomatic negotiations failed. The United Nations has, on several occasions, tried to resolve the crisis peacefully, but Iraq has not backed down. Therefore, a war offensive was launched to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait and the bombing of Iraqi military and civilian capacities. In just a few days, a US-led coalition managed to defeat Iraqi forces. This episode in history is known as the Gulf War.
