The correct answers are B) cheaper production and C) reduced unemployment.

The achievements made by corporations were cheaper production and reduced unemployment.

Corporations changed the way companies operated and not always this meant advantages for the workers. A corporation is a legal entity that functions separating its operations from its owners. Owners share profits and losses and through the corporation, they have limited liability. Owners hire managers to operate the corporation and they ask results to these managers. Corporations offer jobs but workers are not treated very well. Some times they became dispensable and hire other workers who adapt to what corporations offer.

Even though she had her worries about acute pesticide poisoning, she was really alarmed about slow pesticide poisoning of everything, like humans and plants. Her intentions on the book were to educate people about pesticide risks, trying to transform the "myth" of pesticides into reality for the masses.

Answer:

Student answer will vary and may include hardships from job loss for the workers and their families. Answers should include the idea that as workers at the factory lose their jobs they and their families will reduce their spending. This reduction will hurt other businesses that will then need to lay-off employees, reduce hours, or delay hiring. Those newly affected will, in turn, reduce their spending causing hardship to other businesses in the town.
