Economic decline and panic selling and sparked the great depression
Battle of Britain, during World War II, the successful defense of Great Britain against unremitting and destructive air raids conducted by the German air force (Luftwaffe) from July through September 1940, after the fall of France. Victory for the Luftwaffe in the air battle would have exposed Great Britain to invasion by the German army, which was then in control of the ports of France only a few miles away across the English Channel. In the event, the battle was won by the Royal Air Force (RAF) Fighter Command, whose victory not only blocked the possibility of invasion but also created the conditions for Great Britain’s survival, for the extension of the war, and for the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany.
America wanted to stamp out Communism in South East Asia. They also looked at this an an opportunity to fight the soviets but not directly , this is called a proxy war. Such proxy wars happened in Afghanistan and Korea and now in Syria. For evidence , the United states president at the time lyndon b Johnson said " the Soviet threat is only going to get bigger and we have to take âction now"

</em>The original full title of the magazine was, <em>THE CRISIS: A Record of the Darker Races. </em><em />The magazine was founded by W.E.B. Du Bois in 1910. Now simply known as <em>The Crisis, </em>the current quarterly journal continues as the official magazine of the National Association of Colored People (NAACP). It is the longest-running publication in the world by and for the black community.<em>
