This theme could have applied to everyone who was abandoned and fostered by people they don"t know about. In this book, Mowgli was abandoned in the forest until Baloo had found him and kept him safe from the tiger and snake.

This quote  “For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.” This shows that the wolf pack always stays together no matter what happens, which allows Mowgli to trust them since they were the ones who adopted him after the tiger attack on his parents which led him to be homeless.
