Hey there!
The ancient Greeks used direct democracy, and we use representative. The difference is that first of all, with a direct democracy, the opinions of the people directly affect the outcome of the decision being made. Those eligible to vote voted in assemblies, and the response of the majority ruled.
Here- it's a bit different. We use representative democracy- meaning that we elect representatives to vote and speak for us on the behalf of the people.
There's our difference right there. A direct democracy - like I said is where decisions directly affect outcomes, as opposed to where representatives are elected on behalf of the people to make laws and represent their voters and territory.

Some of the similarities between the two revolutions were:
- Both revolutions began due to the ideas of Enlightenment.
- Many of their objectives were similar: freedom, equality, the end of tyranny, the rule of law, etc.
- Both desired a republican, democratic government.
- Both inspired many political changes across the world.
However, they were also significantly different:
- The United States was fighting against a different country (England), while France engaged in a civil war. This led to deeper divisions within French society.
- The United States already had a more egalitarian system, while French social classes were extremely rigid. Therefore, long-lasting change was more difficult to achieve.
- The United States was successful in remaining democratic and republican, while France struggled with various regime changes.
- The post-war period was relatively peaceful in America, while it was extremely bloody and violent in France.

ISIS :-

ISIS is a universal threat, making strange bedfellows of US, Russia, EU and Iran. But there is no unified approach to combat the group. Saudi Arabia has formed a coalition of 34 largely Muslim nations to fight terrorism, as the main gate for ISIS fighters to go into Syria, which could be pivotal.

Refugee Crisis :-

Three million Syrians have fled to Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq, another 6.5 million displaced in the country. The EU, ideologically divided over how to handle the crisis, is bearing the brunt of refugee migration. Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Hungary have built anti-immigrant fences on their borders.

Volatile Oil Prices :-

Oil trading has becoming more volatile due to growing tension between two, big OPEC players, pushing already slumped prices lower. Saudi's newly severed ties with Iran have destabilized a political situation that will further complicate oil outlook.

Iranian-Saudi Tension :-

Saudi Arabia executed a dissident Shia Imam by sending out regional shockwaves and inciting violent reaction in Shia-dominated Iran. KSA then severed diplomatic and commercial ties with Iran; Gulf nations followed suit.
