Conditions on slave ships caused many slaves to die. The conditions were absolutely inhumane, slaves were stacked one on top of the other or very closely together, were given rotten food or no food and had to endure very long journeys, which increased sickness.
It was met with opposition but Wilson was determined to
establish such an organization to prevent another great war from happening
again. Unfortunately, many in the Senate
disapprove of the proposal but Wilson still wanted this to come true. He became ill as a result and this led to his
death.
