1. A clause is a part of a sentence that has a verb in it.

2. An independent clause is a sentence that can stand alone, with a subject and predicate.

3. A dependent clause is a group of words that have a subject and verb but can never be a sentence.

4. It should be separated when the dependent clause comes before the independent clause.

5.  A noun clause is a dependent clause that acts as a noun.

6.  A noun clause can be the subject, direct object, indirect object, object of a preposition or a subject complement.

What the person does not know, I would guess, is that there is a new restaurant located on the corner of Oak and Burberry that specializes in Chinese food.
