Most men went to go fight during WWII. This meant almost no income for the children and women because men were the ones that had jobs and made the money. People needed to work back at home to keep society running, and to make money to support their families. Women got employed at the factories, and made the vehicles, weapons, and ammunition to supply the men who were fighting in the war.
