Why does Curley attack Lennie? Look closely at the scene. At what point does Lennie react/defend himself? What’s the significanc
Bess [88]
Curley mistakenly thinks that Lennie is laughing at him with the other men, when, in fact, Lennie is not aware of the drama between Curley and Slim and is simply chuckling to himself with glee thinking about the dream farm. Curley, who has just been embarrassed in front of the workers, picks a fight with Lennie, thinking he'll earn some respect back by beating the much-larger Lennie. Lennie defends himself and attacks Curley only when George tells him to do so. In the scene, George says, "Get 'im, Lennie!" This moment feels very much like a master siccing his dog on someone. Lennie follows George's command and breaks nearly every bone in Curley's hand.

What is Superiority Theory, Incongruity Theory, Release Theory? I couldn’t find what they mean. (This is of humor btw)
tangare [24]
Superiority Theory is when you laugh at someone else’s expense. You are making fun of them because you feel superior to them.
Release Theory is you laugh to release nervous energy.
Incongruity Theory is a joke that a comedian would use. “The most common kind of joke is that in which we expect one thing and another is said; here our own disappointed expectation makes us laugh.”

English article about you have heard about a school allows students to decide which subjects are tought
Inessa [10]

Answer:

In today’s modern world, education has come a really long way. Nowadays, schools are giving their pupils the chance to decide which subjects they are taught, even in early grades such as grade 6. This has sparked many debates on whether giving the students this opportunity is going to be beneficial or not. I believe that this can be advantageous for the students.

Firstly, giving students the opportunity to decide which subjects they are taught can greatly boost the students’ morale. Moreover, as they would be only studying what they want, they would be less likely to drop subjects. Also, the increased motivation can result in the students performing better in their studies. In addition, some students may choose less subjects if they are given this opportunity and this would allow them to spend more time and focus on the subjects of their choice.

Giving students the opportunity to choose which subjects they are taught can make the students feel more responsible. This is because they would feel that their performance is in their hands. This is likely going to make the students think more about their career. Also, they would be more compelled to do better in the subjects that they have chosen because these subjects would be somewhat or even directly related to their dream careers. Additionally, it would also make the students feel more free and independent.

In conclusion, due to its various benefits, I think that schools should be giving its students the opportunity to decide which subjects they are taught. However, there must also be some mandatory subjects like Mathematics and language that are essential for all professions.

Which of the stories below can be classified as a folk tale? a) “The Orphan Boy and the Elk Dog” A Blackfoot Legend b) “Promethe
tankabanditka [31]

The story that could be classified as folk tale is a) "The Orphan Boy and the Elk Dog" A Blackfoot Legend.

Folktales, by definition, are those stories and legends that originated from the lives and imagination of the people and their folklore, and they were oral literature transmitted from one generation to the next by a storyteller. Folktales were used to transmit the knowledge of the community and their legends. They do not have an individual author though they might be compiled by an editor.

In the case mentioned, "The Orphan Boy and the Elk Dog" is a 19th century folktale that explains how horses came to the Blackfoot Native American Tribe.
