In the fight the author uses what some would call the men’s “weaknesses” or “struggles” and actually has them using these to their advantage. A memorable line in the poem is “a dead policeman heard the noise” this line is obviously comical because if you’re deaf u can’t hear the noise. It’s funny because what they can’t physical do- they’re doing and it honestly makes no sense, but it’s funny
