Answer:

Length=x+2

Width=2x-1

Area of garden =length×width

88sq.ft=2x-1 × x+2

88sq ft=2x^2+3x-2

2x^2+3x-2=88

2x^2+3x-2-88=0

2x^2+3x-90=0

2x^2+(15x-12x)-90=0

x(2x+15)-6(2x+15)=0

(x-6)(2x+15)=0

x-6=0

x=6 eq.1

2x+15=0

2x=-15(since length cant come in negative so it would not be the value of x)

Since x=6 according to eq. 1 ,therefore

Length =x+2

Length=6+2

Length=8..
