I think Wright put C. HIS PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE into writing of "The Voodoo of Hell's Half-Acre."

He wrote this story when he was still 15 years old in the hopes that his work will endear him to the people around him. Unfortunately, a lot of people were against the story and did not support it. They even concluded that he was "weak-minded" and that his usage of the word hell is a sign of it.
