Depends how bad it is, if it’s small just run under water. but if it’s big do a treatment of in and use pain pills and aquaphor and wrap it.

I would say that the child should run their hand under warm water with soap, let it cool off, and then grab a antibiotic ointment and put that along the redness. Let the hand rest on a pillow and don’t use it too much but also move the fingers and hand slowly to adjust to the pain, it should go away slowly in 20 minutes or more. Hope this helps:)
