You need at least nine decimal places on this problem. You may want to use fractions instead. There are 8 candidates for a posit

ion. The candidates are interviewed independently by each member of a committee that has 5 people on it. A candidate will be hired if she is chosen by at least 4 members of the committee. In reality, the committee members cannot really distinguish among the candidates and just choose at random with no biases. What is the probability that a candidate will be selected with a unanimous vote (all committee members choose the same person)? 5/16 What is the probability that a candidate will be selected with only one dissenting vote (all but one committee members choose the same person)? What is the probability that a candidate will be selected?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:What is the probability that a candidate will be selected with a

unanimous vote (all committee members choose the same

person)?

=6/(6^5)

=1/(6^4.)

2 What is the probability that a candidate will be selected with only

one dissenting vote (all but one committee members choose the

same person)?

=5 ∗ (1/6)^4 ∗ (5/6) ∗ 6.

=25/(6^4)

3 What is the probability that a candidate will be selected?

=5 ∗ (1/6)^4 ∗ (5/6) ∗ 6 +1/(6^4)

=25/(6^4) +1/(6^4)

=(25+1)/(6^4)

=26/(6^4)

Digiron [165]

Answer:

We save 46.80 by buying the shoes at SuperSports

Step-by-step explanation:

Super Sports

We get 20 % off, which means we pay 80%

72.50 * 80% = 72.50*.80 = 58

Each pair of shoes will cost 58 before tax

We purchase 12 pairs

12 *58 = 696

Tax costs 6.5%

tax = cost & rate = 696 *.065 =45.24

The total cost = cost + tax =696+45.24

                        =741.24

Double Dribble

Shoes cost 54.75

Processing fee = 54.75 *9% = 54.75 *.09 =4.93

New cost = 59.68

Shipping=5.99

Cost = new cost plus shipping = 59.68+5.99=65.67

We are buying 12 pair

12*65.67=788.04

The difference is 788.04-741.24 =46.8

We save 46.80 by buying the shoes at SuperSports

The gradient for a parallel line is the same.
perpendicular lines are negative reciprocals.
so all you have to do is re arrange it so y=Mx+b so the check out the gradients to what I listed above... remember y shouldn't have any number on it.
