Reading strategies present a person with some process by which they can know and understand a text. Such strategies can include summarizing, imagining, or even predicting what to expect in the coming lines of the text.
The strategy that makes guesses about what will happen next is making predictions. This can be done through the understanding of what has happened till that particular text and through hints or elements that can suggest what to expect.
