Explanation:

To explain to Diego's brother about the two moving continent, it is pertinent to let him know that the rate at which the continents are closing in on earth other is very slow.

Most of the continents are moving at a rate of 2.5cm per year. It would take about 10yrs for them to move about 25cm which is a quarter of a meter.

The rate of growth is very small and imperceptible.
