Help!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!
Ne4ueva [31]
There's another way to do this, but I'm showing you what I use.

First: I would go ahead and subtract 9x from both sides of the equation. By doing that, the "9x" on the left side would cancel out and you would be left with "7=-6x-5"

Second: Add 5 to both sides of the equation. It should cancel out the 5 on the right and you should be left with "12=-6x"

Lastly: Divide both sides by -6, the -6 on the right next to the variable will cancel out and you'll be left with "-2=x" Which is the solution.

What is the surface area of the net? *inches squared*
serious [3.7K]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  75 in^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The central vertical rectangle (including "ears") has dimensions

  3 in wide by (9+2+2) = 13 in tall

Its area is

  A = LW = (3 in)(13 in) = 39 in^2

__

The two rectangles either side of that have dimensions 2 in by 9 in. The area of each of them is

  A = LW = (2 in)(9 in) = 18 in^2

__

The total net area is the sum of the areas of the parts:

  left rectangle + central rectangle + right rectangle

  = 18 in^2 + 39 in^2 + 18 in^2 = 75 in^2 . . . . surface area of the net
