Ingersoll Company has a bond currently outstanding. The bond has a face value of $1,000 and matures in 10 years. The bond makes

no coupon payments for the first three years, then pays $45 every six months over the subsequent four years, and finally pays $100 every six months over the last three years. If the required return on these bonds is 5.8% percent compounded semiannually, what is the current price of the bond

Answer:

$1,196.01

Explanation:

<u>What is the current price of the bond </u>

Face value of Bond = $1000

Term (maturity time) = 10 years

periods = 10 *2 = 20 ( semiannual compound of interest )

Yield = 5.8%.  semiannual yield = 5.8% / 2 = 2.9% = 0.029

Next : calculate the value of bond using the relationship below

Discounting factor = 1/(1 + r)^n

n = number of payments

note : payments are made semiannually

attached below is a Table showing the discounting factor and present  value starting from the 4th year ( Biannually )i.e. when payment commenced

A company that produces pleasure boats has decided to expand one of its lines. Current facilities are insufficient to handle the
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

A. Lowest Total Cost:

A. 315,550 or more

B. Lowest total cost of annual volume of 120 boats

C. C

Explanation:

The lowest total cost among the three alternatives is b.

If the company goes for new location it will have to incur fixed cost of $270,000 and variable cost per boat will be $600.

If the company Subcontracts then Total cost per boat is $2,620

If a company goes for expanding existing facility then it will incur fixed cost of $57,000 and variable cost will be $1,030 per boat.

If company produces 315,000 or more boats then it will have lowest possible cost for the boat.

For an output of 120 bots the best possible alternative is option C. The fixed cost will be $475 per boat ($57,000 / 120 boats)

The total cost will be $1,505 ($475 + $1,030)

Suppose that the quantity of DVD players sold increased from 200 to 400 when the price fell from $225 to $175. Over this price r
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

Option D.

Explanation:

Given information:

Q_1=200, Q_2=400

P_1=225, P_2=175

Formula for price elasticity of demand is

E_d=\frac{Q_2-Q_1}{P_2-P_1}\times \frac{P_1+P_2}{Q_1+Q_2}

Substitute the given values in the above formula.

E_d=\frac{400-200}{175-225}\times \frac{225+175}{200+400}

E_d=\frac{200}{-50}\times \frac{400}{600}

E_d=-\frac{8}{3}

E_d\approx -2.67

Absolute value is

|E_d|= |-2.67|=2.67

The absolute value of the price elasticity of demand for DVD players is 2.67.

Therefore, the correct option is D.

Bogdan [553]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

The climate of the organization refers to the work environment that is perceived by the employees. A positive environment improves employee satisfaction and because of that managers try to maintain this. They can asses the climate in their work groups and make changes in management practices that can affect the working climate. Because of that, the statement that says that the actions of associates in supporting diversity are more important than the actions of managers because associates establish the working climate of the organization is false because the managers as the leaders can improve or not  the climate of the organization with their decisions.
