Answer:

7 students in each van and 52 students in each bus.

Step-by-step explanation:

v = no of students in van, b = no of student in bus

High school A ⇒ 3v + 6b = 333 ---------- Equation (1)

High school B ⇒ 11v + 6b = 389 ------------ Equation (2)

Solve equation (1) & (2) simultaneously :

11v + 6b = 389

3v + 6b = 333

----------------------- MINUS

8v + 0 = 56

v = 56 / 8

v = 7

Put v = 7 into Equation (1) to get b:

3v + 6b = 333

3 (7) + 6b = 333

21 + 6b = 333

6b = 312

b = 312 / 6

b = 52

So there are 7 students in each van and 52 students in each bus.

Explain why the graph of a linear equation in the form of y=c is a horizontal line
xeze [42]
Let's say "c" is a constant, hmmmm any constant, for any value whatsoever of "x", "y" is always that constant, for example, say c = 3, thus y = 3, so a table for it will look like

\bf \begin{array}{ccll}
x&y\\
\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\
-\infty&3\\
-6&3\\
-5&3\\
-4&3\\
-3&3\\
-2&3\\
-1&3\\
0&3\\
1&3\\
2&3\\
3&3\\
4&3\\
5&3\\
6&3\\
+\infty&3
\end{array}

now, if you plot those points, it'd looks like the picture below.

oee [108]

Answer:

Slope: -2/3

Y-intercept: (0, 9)

Equation: y = -x + 9

3 blocks away: 6 visits

Step-by-step explanation:

Calculate slope from point (1, 8) to point (3, 7) on the line.

The y-intercept is where the line meets the y-axis.

The equation took a bit of guessing, but the -x is the y = x line, but reversed. 9 is the y-intercept.

Check the point on the line where x = 3.

Hope this helps!
