Answer:

C, He maintains that the fear of death and skeletons is irrational and should be conquered.

Explanation:

Here is what in the text makes me believe this.

 • "So he is mysteriously ashamed of the skeleton of himself in death." He finds it mysterious to why people are ashamed or afraid of skeletons.
 • "One would think it would be most unwise in a man to be afraid of a skeleton..." His reflection upon the fear of skeletons.
 • "A man might as well say that a factory chimney was typical of bankruptcy." I interpret this as making fun of the fear of skeletons.
 • "There is no reason why this creature... the living skeleton, should not become the essential symbol of life." I think he's proclaiming that skeletons deserve more credit.

Hopefully this helps. Sorry my response was so long. Good luck.

1. How does the way Benedick and Beatrice speak to each other demonstrate their feelings for each other?
frez [133]

Benedick and Beatrice demonstrate their feelings for each other by speaking to one another thru playfully insulting each the other, which leads to the reader to conclude that they are actually fond of one another. During their first interaction, we can see an explicit sign of their previous possible relationship.
