Answer:

C, He maintains that the fear of death and skeletons is irrational and should be conquered.

Explanation:

Here is what in the text makes me believe this.

 • "So he is mysteriously ashamed of the skeleton of himself in death." He finds it mysterious to why people are ashamed or afraid of skeletons.
 • "One would think it would be most unwise in a man to be afraid of a skeleton..." His reflection upon the fear of skeletons.
 • "A man might as well say that a factory chimney was typical of bankruptcy." I interpret this as making fun of the fear of skeletons.
 • "There is no reason why this creature... the living skeleton, should not become the essential symbol of life." I think he's proclaiming that skeletons deserve more credit.

Hopefully this helps. Sorry my response was so long. Good luck.

Explain how Ovid foreshadows the fall of icarus throughout the story
belka [17]

Answer:

Ovid foreshadows the fall of Icarus in the story Deadalus and Icarus by Elaina Curtis when Deadalus warned His son Icarus not to fly too high and not to fly too low.

Explanation:

Deadalus said to His son "Let me warn you, Icarus, to take the middle way, in case the moisture weighs down your wings, if you fly too low, or if you fly too high, the sun schorches them. Travel between the extremes. And i order you not to aim towards Bootes, the Herdsman or Helice, the Great Bear or towards the drawn Sword or Orion: take the course i show you".

The above statement by Deadalus is a good example of foreshadowing. Foresadowing lets Readers predict what will happen next. The statement shows Deadalus warning His son Icarus not to fly to high and too low. by doing this Hints to readers that Icarius might die. The statement helps Readers predict what may happen next. from the warning the Readers can predict that although if Icarus does not die that He may get into trouble. Hence the essence of foreshadowing in a story.

I bet the butcher that he couldn’t reach the meat on the top shelf. He refused to take the bet because the steaks were too high.
AlladinOne [14]
This is an example of an idiom.

An idiom that has a different meaning than what it sounds like.

It doesn’t actually mean that the steak is high. “The steaks were too high” simply means that it’s too dangerous/risky.

Hope this helps!
