The bill of rights was adopted for many reasons, including to protect the rights and liberties of the states from abuse of power by the newly created government<span> </span>
The Bill of Rights refers to the first ten Amendments to the US Constitution that exist nowadays; it was first proposed by a loose political coalition called the Anti-Federalists who promoted the establishment of strong states governments and a limited central government. One of the reasons that it was adopted was to<u> list specific prohibitions on governmental power and protect individual liberties</u>, such as the right to express, to practice the religion of our choice, to have a fair trial, to be protected against unreasonable searches and seizures and to have reserved powers.
