Ok..i have a few questions about Shakespeare's play Macbeth if anyone is willing to answer, I just need this for an essay I'm wr

Answer:

1.) The dagger was meant to symbolize fate so yes it was an illusion of his mind beacuse of his guilty conscience.

2.) I would say it wasn't too drastic because they did suggest that he'd become king but he chose to listen to them and complete his fate.

3.) I would say thats a fair statement.

4.) His own desires to become king overcame his love for Duncan so much to the degree that he killed him.

5.) I think Macbeth killed Duncan on his own desires to become king and please his wife.
