You forgot to mention that this question is about "Night" by Elie Wiesel.

Answer and Explanation:

1. The author is showing the experiences he spent as a Jewish prisoner during Nazism and how these memories needed to be expressed through writing, which as he claims will help him to understand everything that happened, the reasons that put him there and how he survived. In this way, the author believes that he will get rid of madness, or go mad for good by reflecting on this traumatic experience.

2. The author makes constant use of the rhetorical question, establishing a series of questions that do not aim to receive answers, but rather cause a reflection.

3. With this the author encourages the argument that Nazism and the situation of Jewish prisoners in concentration camps is shocking and terrifying, but it is much worse for those who have been through this situation because it creates trauma and mental scars that are very difficult to overcome.
