During the terrible times of the Triangular Trade, African slaves were sold to rich landlords in the plantations of North America. These plantation owners exploited the slaves, who worked long hours under the sun. They produced many cash crops such as tobacco, cotton, indigo, sugar, or rice, that was traded with other colonies and were exported to Europe. These European countries had industries that transformed the raw materials and produced textiles and other goods that were exported back to Africa and the American colonies.
