Explanation:

Its not a good way to describe someone as shy, most negative connotation out of all of them.

Insecure. Timid means someone is shy, introverted means someone is shy, bashful means someone is shy. Insecure, on the other hand, means someone is unhappy with themselves, causing them to be less sure of things, causing them to be “shy.” Insecure will always be a negative way of describing someone.

Think about the short story "The Lottery." The reader can conclude that the lottery was held MAINLY to _____.
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

B. preserve an institutionalized tradition that imposed limits on its participants.

Explanation:

The main idea of The Lottery is how societies often preserve traditions even after they have lost any reason for existing and even become damaging to the people. This is the case of the lottery which is held in the town. The lottery has no particular purpose or benefit. It is simply maintained and repeated because of an extreme desire to respect and maintain tradition, and to limit the behaviour and liberty of people.

Decreases in membership at the club are affecting the ability of the club to maintain its staff.
yarga [219]
I believe the right correction for the sentence would be "The decrease in members from the clubs are affecting". The first option wouldn't be correct because the word "decreasing" doesn't fit right grammar wise in the sentence. Option two wouldn't make any sense put together with the sentence, it would just sound completely out of place. Option three has the word "were" as in it was affecting the club, not presently affecting the club. And obviously, this sentence needs improvement so option five is out of the question.

body paragraph: What is it? What is it purpose? How do I write one?(Topic Sentence, Four Elements of a good paragraph)
Oksanka [162]
Well a body paragraph is just like YOUR body it's just located below the head and above the waist and without it you wouldn't survive. The body is basicly the dicription of your topic sentence, whatever you know (or find out) about your topic sentence belongs in the body paragraph.
