The Launch of Sputnik was important, because it spurred Space Exploration, in which, with the use of rivalry, we as humans were able to explore the outside world and learn of many different planets, as well as try to find worlds in which humans can inhabit outside the Earth. The Space Exploration also helped advance technology, and create thousands of jobs for Americans through the creation of N.A.S.A.
