(1) The stem and leaf plot is a table organized by the first few (stem) digits with leaves (the rest digits) listed in corresponding rows. The solution depend on how your teacher expects stems to be defined (how many digits). Here's a link describing how to construct them. It is fairly straight-forward. https://www.mathsisfun.com/data/stem-leaf-plots.html

(2) the distribution (see image) is not really strictly symmetric. so I would choose (B)

(3) the distribution (see 2nd image) might be seen as "roughly normal" especially looking at the available options, choice (C) is the only plausible.

Olivia walked 2 2/5 km in 2/3 hour while Ryan walked 4 1/2 km in 1 1/2 hours. Who walked faster and how much faster?
Aleks04 [339]
Find the unit rate for each Olivia and Ryan:

2 2/5 km       15       36 km
------------ * ------- = ------------ = 3.6 km/hr (Olivia)
 2/3 hr          15        10 hr

4 1/2 km          2          9 km
------------- * --------- = --------- = 3 km/hr (Ryan)
1 1/2 hr           2           3 hr

Olivia walked 0.6 km/hr faster than did Ryan.

Heron’s formula: Area = An equilateral triangle has a semiperimeter of 6 meters. What is the area of the triangle? Round to the
nordsb [41]

Answer:

7 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

s = \dfrac{a + b + c}{2}

A = \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

s = 6

\dfrac{a + b + c}{2} = 6

a = b = c

\dfrac{a + a + a}{2} = 6

3a = 12

a = b = c = 4

A = \sqrt{6(6 - 4)(6 - 4)(6 - 4)}

A = \sqrt{6(2)^3

A = \sqrt{48}

A = 6.92820...

A = 7~m^2

Find the surface area
Semmy [17]

Answer:

The surface area is 198.75\ ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1:  Determine the area of the bottom</u>

A = s^2

A = (7.5\ ft)^2

A = 56.25\ ft^2

<u>Step 2:  Determine the area of the triangles</u>

A = \frac{h * b}{2}

A = \frac{9.5\ ft * \frac{7.5\ ft}{2}}{2}

A=\frac{9.5\ ft*3.75\ ft}{2}

A = 17.8125\ ft^2

There are two of these right triangles on every side which means that we have 8 of these triangles so we multiply the area that we got by 8.

A = 17.8125\ ft^2 * 8

A=142.5\ ft^2

<u>Step 3:  Combine the area to get the surface area</u>

A_{total}=56.25\ ft^2+142.5\ ft^2

A_{total}=198.75\ ft^2

Answer: The surface area is 198.75\ ft^2

Write the expression fourteen added to the product of seven and a number
victus00 [196]

Answer:

(7×x)+14

Step-by-step explanation: Because we have 14 added to something, we will need a + to whatever we are adding to. The product of 7 and a number is 7×x because product is the number you get after multiplication. So we get 7×x+14. You dont need parenthesis

Hope this helps!
