Identify the participial phrase and the word it modifies.
expeople1 [14]
The Participial phrase is destroyed by fire, and the word modified is house. This is an example of participial phrase servings as an adjective modifying the word house. This could also be reworded into. Destroyed by fire, the neighbors found their house.

What is the relationship between God and empire in “Recessional” by Rudyard Kipling?
nexus9112 [7]
This poem shows that even when empires fall, God remains. This stanza especially, shows this relationship:

"The tumult and the shouting dies;
   The Captains and the Kings depart:
Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice,
   An humble and a contrite heart.
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!"

It shows that a war has ended (the shouting has died) and that the empire has left (the captain and the Kings depart) but that God is still present (Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice etc). We know he is referring to God here, because "Thine" is with a capital T which represents something holy.

Read the excerpt from "The Charge of the Light Brigade."
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

It emphasizes that the men had no say in their fate.

Explanation:

The repetition in that excerpt shows how powerless the men were in deciding their fate.

It shows the total lack of control they have over their lives, they are merely tools to be commanded and they were obligated to obey each order absolutely.
