Which event do you think influenced the Civil War the most ? And why?
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

The Civil War started because of uncompromising differences between the free and slave states over the power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become states. The North thought that everyone should be free even slaves. The South didn't want that because they really depended on slaves.

How did explorers influence international trade during the 17th century?
natulia [17]
Tea, silk, and porcelain were traded for wool, tin, lead, and silver. Slowly various goods from the East became available to the wealthy elite of Europe. These goods were rare and considered luxury items. During this time porcelain was produced only in China. This shows us that explorers influenced international trade by making items more accessible to places all around the world!

What does it mean when it says slaves were chattel property?
iren [92.7K]

Chattel refers to personal items, as opposed to actual land property. It was once used to describe slaves and cattle, which is why referring to something or someone as chattel isn't very nice — you're essentially saying they're just property, somehow less than human.
