Very interesting wording but from what I gathered, scaling down by a factor of 1/10 would be 64- 6.4(1/10 of 64) so your final answer would be 57.6

Hope this explanation helps ;)

The base of a box is a rectangle. The width of the box is half its length. The height of the box is 0.5m. Find the volume of the
Ivan
Let x be the length and y be the width.
We know already
y= \frac{x}{2}
Area of the base xy
Area of the sides: (x+y)0.25
We get the equation xy=0.25(x+y)-1.08
We will solve the system:
y= \frac{x}{2}\\xy=0.5(x+y)-1.08
The above system has  no real solution, please check your values.

Use the FOIL Method to find (x−4)(x+8).
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

x^2 +4x - 32

Step-by-step explanation:

By FOIL method, (x-4)(x+8) = x \cdot x + x \cdot 8 + -4 \cdot x + -4 \cdot 8 = x^2 +4x - 32.

The sequence an = 8, 13, 18, 23, ... is the same as the sequence a1 = 8, an = an-1 + 5.
harkovskaia [24]
Actually, this answer would be true. Why?

 The first equation is: a(sub <em>n</em>) = 8, 13, 18, 23

The second is: a(sub 1)=8 ; a(sub <em>n</em>)= a(sub <em>n</em>-1)+5
if you wish to find the second term, plug two into the equation for <em /><em>n</em>
8+5=13
to find the third, plug the second term, 13, in for <em>n.</em>
13+5=18.

Hope this helped! I know it's a bit on the late side, but at least you can get the general idea!
