Answer:

<h2>        \bold{\left(\dfrac{3}{13}\ ,\ \dfrac{4\sqrt{13}}{13}\right)\qquad\vee\qquad \left(\dfrac{3}{13}\ ,\ -\dfrac{4\sqrt{13}}{13}\right)}</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

x - y² = -1     ⇒   - y² = - x - 1    ⇒    y² = x + 1   {x≥-1}

4x² + 9y² = 72

4x² + 9(x + 1)² = 72

4x² + 9(x² + 2x + 1) = 72

4x² + 9x² + 18x + 9 - 72 = 0

13x² + 18x - 63 = 0     ⇒   a = 13,  b = 18,  c = -63

x=\dfrac{-18\pm\sqrt{18^2-4\cdot13\cdot(-63)}}{2\cdot13}=\dfrac{-18\pm\sqrt{324+252}}{26}=\dfrac{-18\pm\sqrt{576}}{26}\\\\x=\dfrac{-18+24}{26}=\dfrac3{13}\qquad\vee\qquad x=\dfrac{-18-24}{26}=-\dfrac{21}{13}\\\\ y^2= x + 1\quad\iff\quad x\ge-1\\\\y^2=\dfrac3{13}+1\\\\ y^2=\dfrac{16}{13}\\\\y=\dfrac{4}{\sqrt{13}}=\dfrac{4\sqrt{13}}{13}\qquad\vee\qquad y=-\dfrac{4\sqrt{13}}{13}

HOW DO YOU FIND THE SINE, COSINE, AND TANGENT VALUES GIVEN A POINT ON A CIRCLE? BE ABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE.
FromTheMoon [43]
Answer: If the point of the circle P has coordinates: P=(x,y)
sine (Angle) = y/r
cosine (Angle) = x/r
tangent (Angle) = y/xw
where r=sqrt(x^2+y^2) is the radius of the circle

Example:
P=(3,4)=(x,y); x=3 and y=4
Radius of the circle: r
r=sqrt(x^2+y^2)
r=sqrt(3^2+4^2)
r=sqrt(9+16)
r=sqrt(25)
r=5

sin(Angle)=y/r
sin(Angle)=4/5

cosine(Angle)=x/r
cosine(Angle)=3/5

tangent(Angle)=y/x
tangle(Angle)=4/3

PLEASE HELP!
serg [7]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x = 30

Discussion:

Note: I ignored the * in f*(x)  as i don't know what it means. (If this is not what you intended, please indicate what * means)

f(x) = 2 sqrt(x-5) + 4

f(x) = 14

=>

14 = 2 sqrt(x-5) + 4             => subtract 4 from both sides

14 -4 = 2 sqrt(x-5)               => divide both sides by 2

10/2 = sqrt(x-5)                   =>

5 = sqrt(x-5)                        => square both sides

5*5 = x-5                              => add 5 to both sides

5*5 + 5  = x

25 + 5 = x

x = 30

Thank you,

MrB
