vovangra [49]

Answer:

Mode Tonic relative to major scale Example

Dorian         II                                         D–E–F–G–A–B–C–D

Phrygian    III                                         E–F–G–A–B–C–D–E

Lydian         IV                                        F–G–A–B–C–D–E–F

Explanation:

Dorian is the second mode of the major scale. It sounds cheeky, partly sad, but in a hopeful way. It's prominent in blues, rock, jazz, and funk.

The Lydian scale can be described as a major scale with the fourth scale degree raised a semitone, making it an augmented fourth above the tonic,

The Phrygian mode can refer to three different musical modes: the ancient Greek tonos or harmonia sometimes called Phrygian, formed on a particular set of octave species or scales

How does the filmmaker use light in Casablanca? Describe at least two scenes in which light is used for a particular effect. How
Rufina [12.5K]

The lighting techniques used in Casablanca, is really what makes a difference in the movie. the light shadows and the way the light reflects on some of the characters spaces or items in the movie truly make it amazing. Casablanca can even be considered in the category of Film Noir Genre boards similar like characteristics even though it doesn’t have the same type of story line the way that it depicts each character truly makes it fit in the genre. “the backdrop of a chic gambling den, a nightclub owned by a cynical Rick Blaine, the atmosphere of the club attracts a variety of clients characters that become accurate representation of the people that are in that era the movies like lighting was a set of high contrast in order to powerfully depicts scenes and sets of themes in accordance of social political events at the time.” At the beginning of the movie you see that there’s not too many shadows its just typical black and white. Some of the characters are introduced the evil of the evil or that they are the more shot of their faces get and it makes you wonder what is it that they’re thinking or doing or what kind of behavior they participated in to make them seem kind of different than the rest of the crowd.

The film Casablanca was actually films in high contrast in order to powerfully depicts means and to set the theme of cord ends of the social political events at the time it did not sent you a sliding on the plow or keep items but it was a presence in the eerie atmosphere for example when Rick is thinking about it his ex lover The shadows on his face get darker like he is in a darker place. It is known for its low key lighting and start contrast in order to reflect each others in order to identify the difference between characters either because of the way that they are or their parts in the movie it was necessary to be filled in high intensity due to the fact that It made certain scent incidence and they gave the movie more intense eat the heart of the contract it was it is one of the most creative movies of all time and the way it uses lighting even though it does use both hi high Lights and low lights. in the bottom picture you can see Lazlo, IIsa and Rick face and you see the shadows on their face it kind of makes it seem like the darker the shadow the more they have to hide. This type of contract and lighting it is what makes “Casablanca” truly one of the best of all time.
