answer:

50.24 in

step-by-step explanation:

  • the question is asking us to find the circumference
  • the formula is given: C = 2πr
  • all we have to do is plug in the info we know or get

C = 2πr

C = 2(3.14)(8)

  • the diagram given us the radius since the line is half only — 8
  • we have to use the given pi value — 3.14
  • now solve the equation

C = 2(3.14)(8)

C = 50.24 in

The perimeter of a rectangle is 60 feet. the length is 2 feet more than 3 times the width. find the width of the rectangle
ExtremeBDS [4]
2w+2l=60 and l = 3w+2

All we need to do to find width is substitute the length in the perimeter formula with the length formula we have established.

2w+2(3w+2)=60
2w+6w+4=60
8w+4=60
8w=56
w=7

width is 7 feet

If a car goes around a turn too quickly, it can leave tracks that form an arc of a circle. By finding the radius of the circle,
Sveta_85 [38]
I just encountered this question. Here's my answer.

Given:
Segment AC = 130 feet
Segment CD = 70 feet

I think that I'll be using the Pythagorean Theorem in finding the value of r. r will be the hypotenuse

Segment CE = (r - 70 feet)

r² = a² + b²
r² = 130² + (r-70)²
r² = 16,900 + (r-70)(r-70)
r² = 16,900 + r² - 70r - 70r + 4900
r² - r² + 140r = 16,900 + 4,900
140r = 21,800
r = 21,800/140
r = 155.71 feet
