The Haitian revolution was a revolt against slavery and colonial rule in the French colony of Saint-Domingue. The revolution was the anti-slave revolt that began in 1791 and ended in 1804. The Haitian revolution gave a cause to fight slavery around the world. This Haiti Revolution became the first successful revolt against slavery. They were able to establish the first independent black state named Haiti.
