verb ser-ser is more simple,and its to talk about WHAT somethig is.And to describe characteristics that are  an essential part of the thing we are talking about.

verb estar-estar is used to indicate more temporary states.

Examples: I am ready--ESTOY listo--estar bc it is temporary,youre not always ready

the sky is blue--el cielo ES azul--ser bc blue is an essential characteristic of the sky in the sentence
