Answer: Manolin loves and respects Santiago and is worried about him.

Explanation: Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man And The Sea" tells the story of how an old, experienced fisherman battled against sharks to keep his marlin safe, only to return home empty handed except for the bones. But his achievement was not unnoticed, for it was one of the greatest finds among all the fishermen in his village.

The final scene shows his return, at which the boy Manolin had been looking for him everyday, despite his own family's displeasure. And once Santiago returned, he took care of the tired and worn out man, bringing him food and clothes and taking care of anything that is needed. Even when going out to get coffee for the old man, he cried openly, "did not care that they saw him crying". And even after Santiago's admittance that he would no longer be fishing for he has bad luck, Manolin insists that "I’ll bring the luck with me". This shows his determination to be by the old fisherman's side, and how much he adored and respects the old man.

The entertainment and leisure industries have been severely affected by the pandemic. No shows, no theater, no movies, no music concerts, no festivals.

Restaurants and malls have also been affection by a considerable reduction of people in their premises.

Lockdowns. In extreme conditions, lockdowns have been imposed in many cities or states.

This has been the extreme of the situation. Local, state, and federal authorities have said that this had to be done in order to control the pandemic.

Tourism. Severely affected by the above-mentioned reasons. International visitors represent a major income for US businesses and this year the frontiers had to be closed.

With amusement parks the size of Disney, Universal or Six Flags had to be closed, a big number of employees were sent home, or in some cases, the worst happened: many layoffs.

What change in Middle Eastern society in the 20th century can be attributed to the rise of religious fundamentalism?
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

A. Nationalism has become stronger as fundamentalists have rejected Western democracies

Explanation:

The religious fundamentalism in the Middle East is very powerful. It is heavily involved and very influential in everything that happens in the politics and in the private lives of the people. In lot of ways it reminds of the Catholic Church during the Middle Ages. This is a very big problem because the religious fundamentalists mange to brainwash the youngsters and they recruit people in order to make them radicals, and in general they succeed in that. This results in the societies of the Middle East to go backwards instead of forward as the rest of the world, living in the past and having a dream and goal to create a new Islamic Caliphate.
