Hard news refers to stories that have a significant influence on society as a whole and should be publicized immediately. They are true story’s containing data on incidents that would be analyzed. An opinion piece is a piece of writing that is usually published in a newspaper or magazine and expresses the authors own views on a topic. Many publications publish opinion pieces.
