The Mongols where nomadic pastoralists who rode horses and never lived in one place until they started to conquer cities. One of the reasons the Black Plague spreader so quickly was because of the Silk Road just like the items traded the Black Plague would go town to town. When the mongols would conquer a city they also could carry the plague and infect the people of the city too. These are some of the reasons why the Black Plague infected so much so quickly.
