The Islam does have rules where the people should be fasting, but that is not a frequent occurrence, instead it is only in certain parts of the year.

The meditation, on the other hand, is not something that is connected to the Islam, and the two biggest branches of it. The meditation is a practice that is common in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia, where the Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Taoism, are the main religions/teachings.
