How did guilds train young people to learn crafts?
azamat

A guild is a group of craftsmen who are particularly skilled in a type of work. Guilds were important during the medieval ages because people knew which guilds according to their field of expertise.

Candidates to enter a guild were admitted from 12 years of age. They were trained by a guild member. These guild members in charge of training youngsters expected to receive payment from the boy's parents. Apprentices were not expected to get married during their training.

Once the training was over, the young craftsman would become a "journeyman" and worked as an employee of the guild until he had saved enough money to start his own business.
